Welcome to American Assistance Dogs, Inc.! American Assistance Dogs, Inc. is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of people with disabilities. We serve clients by providing specially trained dogs that help them gain greater independence, confidence, and a deeper connection to the community. American Assistance Dogs, Inc. is committed to respect, leadership, and standards of excellence. We are a volunteer-based nonprofit organization founded in April 2006. AAD puts forth two things: its dogs and its clients. Both are treated with respect and our relationship continues with both for the life of the dog. We pride ourselves on being able to operate with the understanding that both our clients and our dogs have physical needs but also emotional needs as well. Our dogs are not only loved companions but also hard working partners. They not only help an individual with daily tasks but also provide a life of greater independence, security, and increased self esteem. The relationship with one of our dogs is why our trademark is "One Miracle at a Time!"™. Our dogs can do amazing things: open and close doors, retrieve dropped items, assist with putting on and taking off clothes, assist in getting up from a chair or the floor, retrieve the phone, turn lights on and off, alert someone if help is needed, etc. Each dog is trained to meet the needs of the individual that needs their help.
Give to the Client Scholarship Fund and help a person in need! American Assistance Dogs asks each client to reach a fundraising goal of $3,500. This goal is patterned after Habitat For Humanity. When the clients contribute toward their fundraising goal, it positively affects their self esteem and confidence. In an effort to help each client reach their goal, AAD has set up a scholarship fund. The money will be used to help the client meet their fundraising goal.
