Welcome to American Assistance Dogs, Inc.!

American Assistance Dogs, Inc. is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of people with disabilities. We serve clients by providing specially trained dogs that help them gain greater independence, confidence, and a deeper connection to the community. American Assistance Dogs, Inc. is committed to respect, leadership, and standards of excellence.

We are a volunteer-based nonprofit organization founded in April 2006. AAD puts forth two things: its dogs and its clients. Both are treated with respect and our relationship continues with both for the life of the dog. We pride ourselves on being able to operate with the understanding that our clients and our dogs both have physical and emotional needs. Our dogs are not only loved companions but also hard working partners. They not only help an individual with daily tasks but also provide a life of greater independence, security, and increased self esteem. A relationship with one of our dogs is the reason for our trademark, "One Miracle at a Time!"™.

American Assistance Dogs is a mobility service dog provider.  This means our dogs are trained to:

    • Pick up items
    • Open/close doors or drawers
    • Turn on lights
    • Give balance support or transfer help
    • And other tangible skills as needed by a client

Unfortunately, because we are a small organization, we are unable to train dogs for autism, hearing, allergies, diabetic or seizure response at this time.  We do not train emotional support dogs.

Give to the Client Scholarship Fund

and help a person in need!

American Assistance Dogs asks each client to reach a fundraising goal of $3,500. This goal is patterned after Habitat For Humanity. When the clients contribute toward their fundraising goal, it positively affects their self esteem and confidence.

In an effort to help each client reach their goal, AAD has set up a scholarship fund. The money will be used to help the client meet their fundraising goal.
